To provide reliable & safe thruster installations in more boats, we offer modified versions of our DC electric thrusters in watertight housings for use in stern & other locations that may get wet or be exposed to petrol fumes. These thrusters are fully ignition protected (ISO 8846) for use in boats with petrol engines. They have a hermetically sealed composite housing around all electric parts. This provides the ignition protection as no petrol fumes can enter & be ignited by sparks. The other advantage is that the electric parts that could be damaged by water are also covered & protected, making these thrusters the ideal choice for other stern thruster installations where it is difficult to ensure that the thruster will always remain dry. The ultra-compact SE30 thruster offers the 60 to 85lb. of thrust in a package small enough to fit in boats as small as 20′ load. A sealed gearleg, high performance prop & easy-access zincs make it a powerful & easy-to-maintain addition to any boat.

* All Side-Power thrusters gets their thrust rating from the actual performance you can expect in a boat –
at the voltage a normal installation will provide at the thruster. We have choosen to use the net performance at 10.5 V / 21 V,
but we also list the effect at 12 / 24 V for comparison.

** All battery CCA ratings are stated with the DIN rating, multiply by 1.9 to to get the SAE equivalent (at 0°F, ABYC standard)
